Content Development, SEO, Squidoo Lenses and Assorted Mayhem

Cheers to the Squidtop team for getting everything back up!

It wasn’t enough to create a list of sites that are excellent lens submissions sites, but with the rash of sites going down, I created a lens that shows my favorite sites, and which are up and running as opposed to those that are down for maintenance or worse.

I also talk about my favorite article and press release sites, and other sites that are Squidoo-friendly for putting the word out and getting backlinks.

In my quest to find more and better places to submit Squidoo lenses to, I’m in the process of playing with Stumpedia,  LaunchTags,  JumpTags and I am just getting into the complexity that is tagfoot.

Stumpedia organizes your links and lets people vote them up or down, and updates the home page with recent changes.

LaunchTags allows you to create mini-pages and you can add your adsense to the pages, of which you split it evenly wth LaunchTags

Jumptags efficiently organizes bookmarks and makes them public to everyone.

Tagfoot allows you to submit bookmarks and even wishlists.  Tagfoot also allows you to incorporate adsense and they developed this video to combine tagfoot, Twitter and Adsense and get some cash for your clicks.

Some Squid Directories have undergone changes and I have discovered some more so I’m updating my list:

Article Troll – Recently revamped to be an all-Squidoo site. Allows 2 backlinks for every submission. No registration.
Lensroll – Still a great standby -  a Digg-like model with a top 100,000 Alexa rating.
Squidom – Another Digg-like directory, not as well ranked as lensroll, but a good place to put links.
Squoogle – Currently down to catch up on submissions.
BumpZee – Highly respected site, but is currently on hiatus – more info here would be appreciated.
Isle of Squid – Another good resource.  Was attached to Squidpedia, which seems to be down now.
Squidoo Mixx (Mixx for Squidoo members)
Squidixx Mixx (Also Mixx for Squidooers)
Lensmasters Mixx (Another Squid Mixx site)
Tower Promote – Just submit your link – no registration. You can upgrade your listing for $5.
Best Free Forums – A forum devoted to Squidoo Lenses only. Each Squidoo category is represented.
Lensmasterworld – Multiple subscription levels to promote your lenses, including a free subscription with less bells and whistles. The site is apparently also for sale if you want your own lens directory.
Squidoo Ink Pot – Add a lens, no registration.

I have these sites in my SquidU signature, but tried to add more and ran out of room, so I thought this was a good place to add them.

If you have lenses, and I know you do, you want to go to these sites and promote them there.

All of these sites WANT you to submit lenses there so go ahead, don’t be shy.
